Frequently asked questions
Where does my document go?
Nowhere. It's opened, edited and exported on your device. The site and app count visits with cookieless analytics and send error reports with technical details only; neither contains your document. Details are in the compliance pack.
Can someone remove a cover later?
No. Each exported page is one flat image, so the covered content no longer exists in the file. Try selecting the text under a cover: there's nothing to select.
How do I know the exported file is clean?
Dress Docs shows you after each export: no text layer, empty metadata. You can also check it yourself in any PDF viewer.
Is my work saved?
Only if you choose. Documents are temporary by default and cleared when you close or reload the page. For longer jobs, you can save a document in this browser on this device, encrypted with your passphrase. ID copies are always temporary.
Which files can I use?
PDFs and any image your browser can open, such as PNG, JPG or WebP. You export to PDF, PNG or JPG.
Is it free?
